Home of two major champions, Córdoba Golf Club stands out as one of the best golf courses in Argentina. Its English style and proximity to the mountains offer splendid views of nature only 20 minutes away from Córdoba city Centre. Since 1927 the golf club has hosted ‘Centre Open’, a tournament won by several prestigious players, including Sam Snead, Andy North, Roberto de Vicenzo, Ángel Cabrera, and Eduardo Romero.
The clubhouse & amenities
The Clubhouse is a picturesque old building, with large halls and a beautiful terrace with a spectacular panoramic view of the course. Facilities are constantly being remodeled to improve their services and quality.

The course
The course is rather short and with wide fairways. Its main protections are the small and undulated greens and a lot of out-of-bounds areas. The course will test your scrambling and putting abilities so make sure to take time to analyze every chip and putt. Regarding the slope, like any golf course located near the mountains, it has uphill and downhill holes but nothing too steep to worry about. Plus, you will not find any uphill or downhill lie as fairways are flat. Overall, it is a friendly, fun, and fast playing course that can be enjoyed by players of all levels, including beginners.

Course conditions
In the past few days, the course had to endure pouring rain but nevertheless, conditions are remarkable. Fairways, greens, and roughs are neatly cut, and water has really painted the course with a strong green color. Even though the greens rolled perfectly, I would rather have had faster greens to take advantage of my knowledge of the course. But that would be selfish and might get the greens burnt.
My golf round
My tee time was at 14:55. The weather was perfect with a slight breeze coming from the south. I managed to get up and down for par at 10 and 11 and proceeded to birdie 12. From there my game was pretty consistent, I missed some drives to the left but was able to make good recovery shots. If I had not three-putted twice it might have been one the best rounds of my life.
My best shot of the day arrived when I was in need of positive energy. I was about to hit my first shot in the 8th hole, 190 yards downhill par 3. I had bogeyed three of the last four holes and was facing to end my round over par if I made one more bogey. Fortunately, I hit a perfect seven-iron 3-feet short of the pin for an easy birdie. That gave me the boost of confidence I needed to birdie the last hole and go home with a smile.
Favorite hole
My favorite hole is also the toughest and the one I hate the most: 11th, a 445 yards long par four, with out of bounds to the right and tall pines to the left. From the black tee box, the shot is completely blind and thirty yards uphill. The second shot is no less difficult, usually at least 170 yards to a small and complicated green. Luckily, I made par on Saturday and a silly bogey on Sunday.

Final tips
- Avoid playing on Sunday morning or Saturdays as they are very crowded days.
- When making the reservation specify if you are going to rent a cart or clubs because they are scarce.
- Try to choose to play the front nine first. The tee shot at 10 and 11 are challenging, especially if it is your first shot of the day.
